How to sell on Cdiscount: the complete 2026 guide

Updated 2026 11 min read By AEGIS

France's second-largest general marketplace, Cdiscount is an essential channel for selling online without building your own website. But behind the platform is Octopia, its technology subsidiary that operates the marketplace, the seller space and the logistics. Here's how to get started in 2026: registration, form, documents, costs and services.

Cdiscount & Octopia: who does what?

Founded in Bordeaux in 1998, Cdiscount has around 11 million active customers and nearly 4 billion euros in sales volume, with more than 15,000 third-party sellers. The marketplace now accounts for close to half of its sales.

Since 2021, the marketplace and the Seller Space have been operated by Octopia, Cdiscount's technology subsidiary. Octopia manages the selling infrastructure, seller onboarding, the catalogue and order tools, as well as additional services such as logistics and invoicing. In other words: you sell "on Cdiscount", but day to day you work within an Octopia environment.

Who can sell on Cdiscount?

Selling is reserved for businesses: individuals are not accepted. All French legal statuses are eligible — sole trader (micro-entreprise), individual business, EURL/SARL, SAS/SASU — as well as foreign companies registered in their own country's trade register. The micro-entreprise remains the simplest way to get started, within the applicable revenue thresholds.

Documents to prepare

Before filling in the form, gather:

Registering: the form in brief

Registration is done online at marketplace.cdiscount.com, via the "Sell on Cdiscount" form. In short: you create your seller account, submit your supporting documents (Kbis, RIB, VAT, T&Cs, liability insurance), set up your store and import your catalogue. The application is then reviewed within 5 to 10 business days on average before sales are activated.

How much does it cost?

The model is based on two main costs:

The subscription is a fixed cost to absorb: you need enough sales volume to make it worthwhile. Also factor the commission into your margin calculation, category by category.

Logistics: Octopia Fulfillment

You can handle shipping yourself, or delegate logistics to Octopia Fulfillment: storage, order preparation and dispatch. Products handed over then carry the "Shipped by Cdiscount" label, which improves their visibility and includes them in the CDAV (Cdiscount à Volonté) loyalty programme for items under 30 kg.

You can also entrust your logistics to FBA PREP IDF, our own preparation centre in the Paris region (Île-de-France): receiving, inspection, labelling and dispatch of your orders, handled by our teams.

Succeeding over time

Opening the store is simple; keeping it performing is less so. Cdiscount is a demanding marketplace: the Buy Box is won on price and service quality, and performance indicators (cancellation rate, delivery times, customer satisfaction) must be met to avoid penalties. A competitive pricing policy, well-crafted product listings and responsive customer service make the difference.

Prefer to delegate? AEGIS can handle your presence on Cdiscount end to end, without you having to manage the day-to-day. And since we're paid on sales, our interests are aligned with yours.
